The Pentatonics are a jazz band dedicated to bringing all kinds of jazz to all kinds of people of all ages. We are all dedicated jazz artists and dedicated music teachers trained in the Orff approach to joyful music education for children. Daily working with kids, we begin in the child’s world of play and chant and movement to bring them into swingin’ jazz arrangements at their level of skill and understanding. We have given concerts and workshops to great acclaim at the SF Jazz Center, Stanford Jazz Festival, Freight and Salvage Coffehouse and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. Doug Goodkin & the Pentatonics are available for Family Jazz Concerts, school assemblies, house concerts and more.

To find out more about our approach, listen to our CD Boom Chick a Boom on Spotify or iTunes or purchase it at CD Baby or Amazon.com
